Cancer Professionals

The success of McLaren Cancer Institute in Michigan depends upon leading cancer researchers partnering with community-based physicians. Through this collaboration, option for treatment at cancer treatment centers can be more quickly developed to increase the survival rate from cancer.

Three categories of membership have been created:

Active Members: Cancer specialists or physicians with over 50% of their patient care devoted to cancer diagnosis, cancer treatment or support who are on the active staff at a McLaren Health Care hospital or on the faculty of MSU's College of Human or Osteopathic Medicine are eligible for active membership. All active members must be board certified in their area of expertise.

Associate Members: Cancer Nurses, Radiation Therapy Technologists, Certified Tumor Registrars, Physician Extenders or other physicians or professional with appropriate credentials are eligible for associate membership. Physicians with an interest in cancer care or referring physicians to our cancer specialists are eligible for associate membership. Associate members must be on active staff at a McLaren Health Care hospital or on the faculty of MSU's College of Human or Osteopathic Medicine.

Research Members: Other physicians with the appropriate credentials conducting cancer research or associated medical research may apply for research membership with McLaren Cancer Institute.
