McLaren Health Advantage recognizes that employers need a support system as they venture into the self-insured arena. To help in the management of your self insured risk, McLaren Health Advantage has the Value Check Program (VCP). VCP provides utilization analysis as a standard tool that helps you control your health care costs and at the same time provide high quality medical care.
McLaren Health Advantage uniquely combines utilization review with health care management through VCP. As a population management tool, VCP allows our utilization management department to check for the value that you are receiving for your health care expenditures by reviewing the utilization patterns of your employees.
If utilization patterns suggest a need for education regarding disease states, lack of preventive care or inappropriate settings of care, VCP provides employee education such as:
P Steerage to less costly settings through direct employee education by a nurse
P Increase employee’s awareness of optimum health management for chronic diseases through a disease management program
P Deliver industry standard preventive screening education and reminders
P Provide an "ask a nurse" service to all employees or high/low utilizers
P PCompose a semi annual health related newsletter publication for all employees
