Chaplain Assistants
In addition to on-call chaplains, McLaren Greater Lansing also has special volunteers—called chaplain assistants—who visit and meet with patients and families. These dedicated individuals have completed extensive training to offer patients and their families empathy, compassion, and a non-judgmental, open, spiritual presence.
Requesting Pastoral Care
Emotions can become so scrambled during the uncertain time of illness and hospitalization. The on-call chaplain can provide compassionate listening and a non-judgmental presence. They can lead you to the peace and comfort that come from turning to your own spiritual center.

McLaren Greater Lansing’s chaplains are trained to accommodate all religious beliefs.
McLaren Greater Lansing’s chaplains and chaplain assistants will do their best to be available to you and your loved ones at any time you request their services. To request a chaplain, patients should contact their nurse, who will make all pastoral care arrangements.
For Roman Catholics
For our Roman Catholic patients, there is a daily Eucharistic ministry. Eucharistic ministers bring Holy Communion to the hospital every day. Patients who wish to receive this sacrament should let their nurses know, so they can make arrangements. |
