If your condition is serious, but not life threatening, you will be taken to a treatment room. Outpatient clerks will register you, obtaining the necessary information from your family. Using this system, the Emergency Department staff can complete the paperwork while you are being treated. Any laboratory work or diagnostic studies that are requested will be processed as quickly as possible.
While you are being treated, a member of the staff will relay your progress to your loved ones as often as possible. At the first appropriate time, a relative will be allowed to visit with you. To ensure the best care, we request that you have one visitor at a time. |
