My name is Myrtle Sinclair and I was in an auto accident in June of 2010. I was badly hurt and took a long time to recover. I went to outpatient therapy and was familiar with McLaren Bay Region's therapy department. I began having dizzy spells in April 2011 and last May I passed out at home due to a dizzy spell and spent a week at McLaren Bay Region having a battery of tests which included an EEG, stress test, tilt table test, carotid doppler, and a cardiac catheterization. Luckily everything was negative. I didn't know why I kept feeling like a curtain was coming down over me and then I would pass out.
I had a Dr. appointment in August with Dr. Lakkaraju MD who suggested I visit the Balance and Dizziness Center at the west side medical mall. I called and made an appointment. I was seen by Margaret Arnold PT and assessed for my problem of dizziness. She did a few tests and found a reason for my dizziness. The crystals in my inner ear were not where they should be and helped me by positional therapy and several exercises to do at home. I was getting old fast. I did not want to leave my house for fear of a dizzy spell. I didn't drive anymore and my social life was dwindling. I was like a prisoner in my own house.
Since my treatment at the Balance and Dizziness Center I have my life back. I am driving again, going to church and regaining my independence. Thank you so much to Margaret and McLaren Bay Region for finding a reason for my dizziness and helping me to regain my life back.
