The latest in cardiac ultrasound imaging technology is available at McLaren Central Michigan's Heart & Vascular Center. The Acuson SC2000 echocardiography system from Siemens provides a clearer and more accurate image of the heart.
Benefits of the system include:
- Shorter examination times for patients
- Higher-quality images captured more quickly
With older echo systems, small movements and increased body mass often diminished image clarity.
The advanced technology of this system allows technicians to scan larger patients and patients who have difficulty holding their breath and still get a clear picture. This allows better analysis of the heart, which can offer explanations for symptoms a patient may be experiencing.
In the hands of McLaren Central Michigan's specially-trained sonographers, the echo system gives physicians critical information about the heart including:
- Size of the chambers
- Dimension of each cavity
- Thickness of the walls
- Pumping power
This information helps provide an accurate assessment of the heart's true functionality.
McLaren Central Michigan works continually to provide patients with highest quality care by investing in the latest technology. Echocardiography appointments are available in the Heart & Vascular Center Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. Call McLaren Central Michigan's Central Scheduling at (989) 772-6878 to schedule an appointment. |
