How does it work?
The pressure increases the amount of oxygen at the cellular level, aiding the body’s natural healing process. It also allows the oxygen to reach bone and tissue, increasing white blood cell formation and promoting the creation of new peripheral and capillary vessels.

What type of chamber is used?
Our Sechrist monoplace chambers are the areas largest and can accommodate patients up to 700 lbs.

Is the patient monitored throughout treatment?
Highly qualified and certified hyperbaric technicians monitor the patient’s treatment from beginning to end.

What is treatment like?
Prior to the start of each treatment, the patient’s vital signs are taken and ears are checked. For diabetics, blood sugar levels are taken. There are three phases to the treatment: pressurization, treatment time and depressurization. During treatment, patients will experience pressure in their ears, much like the feeling of ascent and descent in an airplane.

What side effects might one experience?
Most patients experience no after effects from HBOT. However, the most common side effects may
include ear or sinus squeeze and temporary visual changes.

What is the length of treatment?
The length of treatment depends on the diagnosis being treated, as well as the patient’s overall health.
Treatment can range from 90 to 120 minutes.

Does insurance cover treatment?
Most health insurers and Medicare recognize HBOT as being medically necessary and will usually cover
