McLaren Central Michigan welcomes Board Certified Radiation Oncologist W. Edward Naill, MD to the medical staff. Dr. Naill has nearly 30 years of experience in radiation oncology, and his clinical expertise includes the use of multiple radiation systems and of low dose rate (LDR) and high dose rate (HDR) internal radiation applications for gynecological, endobronchial and breast cancers.
Prior to coming to MCM, he spent seven years working with the McLaren Cancer Institute in Flint, Lapeer and Owosso.
Dr. Naill graduated from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He completed an internship at Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center in Denver, CO and a residency in radiation oncology at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in Madison.
After medical school, Dr. Naill served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps for three years as the commanding medical officer for a local community clinic in central Germany. He is also a former member of the radiation oncology faculty at Vanderbilt University Medical School in Nashville, TN.
“I’m really looking forward to working at McLaren Central Michigan,” Dr. Naill said. “I’d also like to become involved in the new medical school at Central Michigan University, and contribute to the clinical research occurring in Mt. Pleasant.”
Dr. Naill and his wife, Ginevra, a retired Montessori school music teacher, plan to move to Mt. Pleasant from Muskegon, where they’ve lived for more than 25 years.
In his spare time, Dr. Naill loves to work in the yard and in the garden.
