Bariatric and Metabolic Institute

McLaren Bariatric and Metabolic Institute in Flint, Michigan has been providing surgical solutions to individuals with obesity since 2005. In 2008, our Institute was named a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence® by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. McLaren's safety measures and success rates resulted in continued approval when in 2012, the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons combined their accreditation program with the American College of Surgeons to form the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP). Our skilled surgeons currently perform three weight loss surgery procedures: Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, the sleeve gastrectomy, and gastric banding using Lap Band and Realize brand devices. All surgeries scheduled through the McLaren Bariatric and Metabolic Institute are performed at McLaren Flint. Pre and post surgical care is offered at one of our two office locations, located in Flint and Clarkston.
