Ingham’s chaplains and chaplain assistants are trained to accommodate all religious beliefs and will do their best to be available to you and your loved ones at any time you request their services.

To request a chaplain, patients should contact their nurse, who will make pastoral care arrangements.

Each nursing unit also has a "Pastoral Care Notebook," which contains prayers from different religious traditions. If a patient’s religious leader is not available, families may use these to offer spiritual support.

• Confidentiality
• Listening
• Support
• Prayer, sacraments, or other arrangements for religious expression
• Grief ministry in dealing with loss or death
• An un-anxious presence in a time of crisis

Your Religious Leader
If a patient prefers, however, his or her own religious leader can be contacted. Permission is required from either the patient or the patient’s representative before his or her minister or congregation may be contacted.
