Anesthesiology

In the anesthesiology rotation, students are exposed to patients from a variety of surgical specialties and receive a wide range of experiences in acute operative medical care.

In the surgical suite, students learn patient care skills including endotracheal intubation, artificial manual ventilation, and the placement of invasive vascular devices.

Faculty members include anesthesiologists skilled in pediatrics, cardiovascular support, obstetrical anesthesia, and consultative pain management. These experienced professionals offer a more specific concentration depending upon the individual's requirements, experience, and career plans.

Please note that all students scheduled for this rotation will be required to take a maximum of two nights of general internal medicine overnight call.
