The American Osteopathic Association and your specialty college have requirements that the education you are receiving is "competency based".
The competencies that we are assessing you on include:
Osteopathic Philosophy and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine
Medical Knowledge
Patient Care
Interpersonal & Communication Skills
Professionalism
System-Based Practice
Practice-Based Learning and Improving
Residents are required to keep track of at least two (2) methods of evaluation in each core competency. The Core Competency Checklist is provided to assist the resident in this process.
