History Time: Pop Pilates & Cardiac Health

If you have a family history of heart disease, you are more likely to develop the disease. Different types of heart disease and related conditions, like high blood pressure and high blood cholesterol, can run in families.

Join Dr. LaToya Linton-Frazier, electrophysiologist and certified Pilates instructor, for a beginner Pilates class to get your heart pumping and learn about heart disease.

What to know:

  • If you have never taken a Pilates class, have no fear, as this is for all skill levels!
  • Wear breathable, comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat (a towel works, too!)
  • Light refreshments provided.
  • Ample parking available on IUP Campus at Zink Hall. Parking available at the rear or side entrance.

What is Pilates? Pilates is a form of exercise which concentrates on strengthening the body with an emphasis on core strength. This helps to improve general fitness and overall well-being. Similar to Yoga, Pilates concentrates on posture, balance and flexibility.
