Nawar Al Janabi, MD
Dr. AlJanabi was born and raised in Baghdad, Iraq and completed his medical training at University Al-Mustansiriyah Medical College. Because of the turbulent situation in Iraq, he then resettled in the USA as a refugee and lived in Erie, PA since 2013. Dr. AlJanabi has a strong interest in preventive medicine and refugee health and has been blessed to help patients from more than 27 countries during his career. One of his primary career goals is to learn a new thing every day. Outside of work, Dr. AlJanabi enjoys socializing with friends, spending time with family, working on car projects, and attending drawing classes. In the future, he aspires to work in an outpatient family practice that includes teaching opportunities.
Tanvi Bharathan, MD
Dr. Bharathan was born in Miami, Florida and was raised in Indiana, Pennsylvania since she was 6 years old. She attended M.S. Ramaiah Medical College in Bangalore, India, earning her Bachelor degree in Medicine and Surgery, followed by a Master’s in Health Administration from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Her passion for primary care was reaffirmed while in medical school and she is especially drawn to family medicine because it allows her to form strong and long-lasting relationships with patients. Her professional interests include sports medicine, women’s health and outpatient medicine. Dr. Bharathan is a successful entrepreneur, avid traveler, lover of dogs and bleeds Black & Gold. #HereWeGoSteelers
Mohit Chhatpar, DO
Dr. Chhatpar grew up in the suburbs of Long Island in New York and went to college in the biggest city in the country at New York University majoring in biology. He went to NYU with the intention of going into medicine as a career and his interest was solidified after a couple of meaningful research and volunteer experiences.
After college, he obtained his Master in Biomedical Sciences degree followed by his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine in the small town of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. While he was new to small town life, he learned a great deal from his interactions while living in a rural setting. He loved it so much he decided to live and complete his residency training in a similar setting in Indiana, Pennsylvania! Additionally, he also chose IRMC based on his interactions with the faculty and staff, both virtual and in person, as he felt at home and the treatment he received was second to none. He knew that being treated well as an applicant would translate to being treated well and supported as a resident.
In addition to his studies, he spent time heading a Bollywood dance team he founded. He also has interests in Bollywood movies, basketball, and traveling.
Rural primary care gives Dr. Chhatpar a huge sense of purpose, providing an opportunity to treat and advocate for patients of vulnerable populations. In addition to rural medicine, he is looking forward to exploring his interests in addiction medicine, behavioral health, and community medicine. He is a member of AAFP, PAFP, POMA, ASAM, and AAPI. He is grateful and enthusiastic about being a member of the inaugural class of family medicine residents at IRMC!
Esther Ezeani, MD
Dr. Esther Ezeani obtained her medical degree at the College of Health Sciences NAUTH. She obtained her Master of Science degree in Clinical Nurse Leadership at the University of Maryland, and a post master in Family Nurse Practitioner at Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts.
Her hometown is Baltimore MD, where her family also resides. Dr. Ezeani currently lives in Indiana, PA, and really enjoys her new home. Indiana reminds her of the small close-knit community where she grew up. Dr. Ezeani felt strongly about training at IRMC after visiting Indiana during her second look. Dr Ezeani is currently enjoying the affordability, hospitality, safety and more, that her new community has to offer. She is happy that IRMC has all she needs to advance along her career path.
Professionally, Dr. Ezeani enjoys working with patients of all ages, and her long-term goal is to provide comprehensive, compassionate health care to patients and families. Her professional interests include preventive medicine, Geriatrics, Integrative medicine, women care and Adolescent medicine.
Dr. Ezeani additionally worked as a family nurse practitioner prior to joining IRMC Family Medicine Residency. Outside of her profession, she enjoys cooking, traveling, working out and spending quality time with her friends and family.
She is very excited to join IRMC, and she looks forward to learning, contributing, and building a great team with her attendings, patients, staff, and co-residents.
Robin Rodriguez, MD
Dr. Rodriguez was born, raised, and home schooled in a small town near Corpus Christi, Texas. She is proud and thankful to have a strong faith and family who have supported her throughout her medical journey. Dr. Rodriguez received her undergraduate degree in biomedical sciences at Texas A &M University Corpus Christi. After obtaining a Master’s in Business from Urbana University and completing her medical degree with the University of Medicine and Health Sciences, she moved to Pennsylvania where she continued her medical work as a post-doctoral Research Fellow studying cancer and cancer related therapies. Falling in love with the amazing state of Pennsylvania, Dr. Rodriguez was immediately drawn to IRMC because of their desire to serve the beautiful town of Indiana and the surrounding rural communities. Her medical interests lie in establishing long term collaborative patient relationships, preventative, wilderness, and rural medicine. Her hobbies include all things related to Disney and being out in nature with her spoiled Doberman boy, Killian! She is looking forward to all of the wonderful people she will meet, care for, and work with; and is excited to be a trailblazer along with her fellow classmates as part of the inaugural class of Family Medicine residents.
Narinder Sangha, MD
Dr. Sangha was born in Punjab, India, and raised in Northern California from the time he was a year old. He earned a BS in Biological Sciences with a minor in Education from the University of California, Davis. Following this, he attended the University of Pennsylvania for a post-baccalaureate. While in Philadelphia he continued his pursuit in medicine while working at Thomas Jefferson University in the Neurology department. Dr. Sangha earned his MD and MPH from St. George's University School of Medicine and matched into his top choice Family Medicine residency at Indiana Regional Medical Center in Indiana, PA. Dr. Sangha's professional interests include full-spectrum family medicine, patient advocacy, preventative medicine, research, and promoting health and wellness in the community. In his free time, Dr. Sangha enjoys the outdoors, spending time with family and friends, hiking, and traveling.
