An Update from IRMC on the COVID-19 Vaccine: March 31, 2021

Wednesday, March 31, 2021

The PA Department of Health announced the start of a special initiative to vaccinate targeted industry workers and to accelerate the vaccination timetable for the next phases. Over the past few months, IRMC has administered over 16,000 vaccines to the most at-risk groups in our community, as well as frontline healthcare workers, and now individuals in Phase1A.

Last week, IRMC announced that we would begin vaccinating all individuals in Phase1A, which includes anyone age 65+ or anyone age 16-64 with a medical condition.

The new guidelines established today (March 31) also include the following:

  • Law enforcement, which includes police, sheriffs and deputies, constables, corrections officers and staff, as well as probation and parole staff.
  • Firefighters, including career and volunteer firefighters.
  • Grocery Store workers, including all workers in supermarkets and grocery stores.
  • Food and Agriculture workers, including all food processing company employees, including meat, poultry, and dairy processing, fresh fruit and vegetable packing operations, food manufacturing, all farmworkers, farm operators, and farm managers, including at urban agriculture operations.

Individuals who now qualify and are interested in receiving the vaccine are encouraged to complete the form below or to call 724.357.7075 and press #8.
