IRMC Names Physician and Allied Health Practitioner Excellence Award Recipients
Jamil Ahmed, MD, is the recipient of IRMC’s James A. Garrettson, MD, Physician Excellence Award for 2021. The award was established in 2006 by the medical staff to recognize physicians who demonstrate exemplary performance and leadership, clinical expertise in patient care, and service excellence. Nominated by his peers for this award, Dr. Ahmed is a role model and promotes the values and mission of IRMC. He began his practice in 1995, after graduating from Dhaka Medical College in Bangladesh, and completing his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at UPMC McKeesport Hospital, as well as completing a Geriatric Medicine fellowship at UPMC Shadyside Hospital. Dr. Ahmed is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine.
Eric J. Snyder, PA-C, is the recipient of IRMC’s Allied Health Practitioner Excellence Award for 2021. This award was established in 2017 by the medical staff to recognize allied health practitioners who demonstrate exemplary performance in the areas of patient care, clinical leadership, and professional service. Nominated by physicians and his peers for this award, Snyder is also a role model that promotes the values and mission of IRMC. A graduate of St. Francis University in Loretto, PA, Snyder is a certified physician assistant that has worked in IRMC’s Emergency Department since 2008, and currently serves as a member of the hospital’s Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee.
