Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Held for CSSMCW & IRMC Joint Venture: Orthopedics at Richland
On November 21, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the grand opening of Chan Soon-Shiong Medical Center at Windber and Indiana Regional Medical Center’s joint venture, Orthopedics at Richland, which includes an Orthopedic Surgeon Office, an Orthopedic Walk-in Clinic, and a Physical Therapy & Sports Performance Clinic.
Since 2017, IRMC and CSSMCW have been collaborating to provide high quality orthopedic services to patients in our communities. Both hospitals are committed to expanding this relationship together with the opening of this new, shared ownership venture in Richland. Services from both rural hospitals have opened in their new home on the second floor of the “Hadeed” building located at 374 Theatre Drive.
“We are fortunate to have found a regional hospital like IRMC that shares our patient-centered philosophy. In the future, small community hospitals like ours are going to depend on collaborative efforts like this to survive. We are confident that this endeavor will lead to many future collaborations that will continue to benefit the communities and the patients we serve,” said Tom Kurtz, CSSMCW President and CEO.
“We are proud to see this project between the two organizations come to fruition. By combining the strengths of both IRMC and CSSMCW, we are confident that we will be able to provide the communities we serve with patient-centered, coordinated, and compassionate care. Together, we make an outstanding team,” stated Steve Wolfe, IRMC President and CEO.
IRMC’s Orthopedic Surgeon Office, with Drs. David Bizousky and Brandon Trale, as well as podiatrist Dr. Howard Miller, relocated their office from downtown Johnstown to the new facility and began to see patients at the end of August. CSSMCW’s Orthopedic Walk-in Clinic relocated from its home in Windber and began to see patients at the end of October. Additionally, at the end of October CSSMCW opened the new Richland Physical Therapy & Sports Performance Clinic. The new sports performance area features top of the line equipment and expertly trained staff who help maximize performance for sport and job specific skills with foundational training and tactical strength and conditioning.
