Colon cancer detection
We're passionate about detecting colon cancer early—and with good reason. It's the fourth most common cancer in the U.S. And it's the second leading cause of cancer death. Your risk for colon cancer increases after age 50. That's the age that most guidelines recommend screenings start.
Colonoscopy is a simple outpatient procedure at IRMC. The test can detect cancer, but it can also find precancerous polyps. Our GI team can remove these polyps before they turn into cancer. Colonoscopy is truly a lifesaving procedure.
