Career Exploration Job Shadowing

Are you interested in gaining exposure to the healthcare field? Does a career in healthcare sound interesting? IRMC's job shadow program will allow you to observe an IRMC employee performing his or her daily duties.

We currently offer shadowing opportunities for 8 hours or less in the areas of imaging, laboratory, nursing, clinical, clerical, billing and much more. Shadowing opportunities are for high school students age 16 and above, college students or others considering a career change. Please note that certain clinical areas require a minimum age of 17.

Please note, this is a shadowing experience and is not considered hands-on learning. To learn more about clinical student rotations at IRMC, click here.

While shadowing, please ensure:

  • Your clothing should be neat, tidy and clean. As per IRMC's dress code, jeans, shorts, sweat pants, tank tops, bare midriffs and exposed undergarments are not permitted. Dress pants/slacks are strongly recommended.
  • Wear comfortable, closed toe shoes. Clean gym shoes are acceptable. Socks or stockings must be worn. Do not wear sandals, flip-flops or CROC-style footwear with top surface holes.
  • No dangling jewelry. Body piercing and tattoos must be covered.

Once your application has been reviewed, we will notify you via email.
